The first online-biography of Willy Brandt developed by the Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt Foundation offers you an almost playful opportunity to examine the life and influence of this great German statesman and politician and to inform yourself about his contemporary background. To that purpose scientists and pedagogues have carefully written easily comprehensible texts, researched voluminous pictorial material and assembled numerous documents from Brandt’s estate in the Archives of Social Democracy at the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

The Foundation regards the online-biography as a dynamic project. New information and features will be added at regular intervals. This comprehensive reference work is intended to illustrate for young people in particular Willy Brandt’s significance for and influence on peace, freedom and democracy and to awaken their interest in the history of the 20th century.
