Allied bomber offensive

On 10 June 1943 the Americans and British inaugurate a co-ordinated bomber offensive against Germany. While the four-engine „Flying Fortresses“ of the 8th US Army Air Corps fly precision strikes during the day against industrial and transportation targets, the British concentrate at night on area-wide strikes against West German industrial centres. The Allies’ principal goal is the destruction of the German submarine and aircraft industries.
