American negotiations with Japan terminated

On 25 November 1941 US president Franklin D. Roosevelt breaks off negotiations with the Japanese government toward settling the „Asian Crisis“. The major power, Japan, has been in a dispute with the United States for the better part of a decade – in particular because of the former’s invasion of China in the year 1937. Washington is not prepared to accept Nippon’s policies of imperialistic expansion. Both countries’ pathway to war is now predestined.
