Conclusion of the „Steel Pact“

With the signing on 22 May 1939 of a friendship and alliance treaty („Steel Pact“), Adolf Hitler and the Italian „Duce“ Benito Mussolini renew the „Berlin-Rome Axis“. Germany and Italy pledge each other mutual military support in case of war.
