Declaration of Human Rights

On 9 December 1948 in New York, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopts the „Universal Declaration of Human Rights“. Among the nations a profound sense of shock exists concerning the unimaginable crimes which were committed since the beginning of the 20th century – especially during the Second World War. The thirty articles comprising the declaration are all based on the assumption that „all members of the human family“ possess dignity and have inalienable rights.
