Elections to Berlin’s Municipal Assembly

On 17 November 1929 the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP) wins 13 of the 225 mandates (5.8 % of votes) in Berlin’s Municipal Assembly elections and gains seats for the first time in a state’s parliament. Joseph Goebbels becomes floor leader of the national socialists in Berlin’s City Hall.
