Foreign Ministers’ conference on the issue of Germany
On 10 September 1951 the foreign ministers of the three Western allies convene in Washington to discuss the future of the Federal Republic of Germany which is still subject to the Statute of Occupation. They decide that the Federal Republic – subject to integration into a Western European community – shall be granted national sovereignty incrementally.

By late November representatives of the Western Powers and of Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer (CDU) will adopt the first draft for a „Treaty on Germany“, providing for the dissolution of the Allied High Commission (AHK).
