Premiere of The Kid

On 6 February 1921, Charlie Chaplin’s first feature-length film, „The Kid“, premieres in New York. Since 1914 the British-born performer, who is also the lead player in his films, has worn his distinctive „trademark“ clothing: oversized trousers, undersized frock coat, oversized shoes, cane, and bowler hat.
