Reich chancellor Wilhelm Marx |
On 4 December 1923, Reich Chancellor Wilhelm Marx (Centre) calls on the Berlin Reichstag to approve an „Enabling Act for Economic and Financial Measures“. It is intended to grant the Reich government far-reaching powers for a limited period of time and facilitate drastic measures to ameliorate the economic crisis. The Reich Chancellor’s demand, which he repeats on 8 December, is granted the same day.
