Reichstag approves Budget for 1927

On 6 April 1927, with a margin of 238 to 166 votes and six abstentions, the Berlin Reichstag approves the budget of the German Reich for 1927. Because of the excessive proposed expenditures for armaments (700 million marks), the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) votes against the budget. It is this party’s first rejection of a budget since 1918.
