His mother, Martha Frahm, and his grandfather, Ludwig Frahm, raise Willy Brandt. The mother and grandfather feel at home in the social democratic workers movement of Lbeck.
The workers at that time use manifold means to try to increase their political and social influence in the Empire and to preserve their identity. Willy Brandt grows up into the Lbeck workers movement.
At the age of three, his mother and grandfather send him into a workers childrens sports group. He participates in workers mandolin club and appears in a stage group.
Shortly thereafter Willy Brandt joins the socialist youth movement, the Falcon.
